A Time of War

You may have noticed it, but the spiritual atmosphere has been thick with warfare. Since the beginning of the month: fear, dread, and anxiety has gripped the hearts of the people. But you must remember something important. You are seated above the noise, above everything that would come against you. No weapon formed against you may prosper. Because you are seated with Christ, you have authority. Make your declarations over the darkness. The spiritual forces of darkness are under the feet of Jesus.

“And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him

in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:6.

God also outfitted you, with the strongest armor tailored for you. Want to know a secret? The armor of God is not a metaphor. It is very real. I have seen my own suit of armor in the spirit. It is silver, and the design is flawless. I am brandishing a broadsword as I stand on guard. If you want more revelation from God, it is here for you. I believe that more Christians would take spiritual warfare seriously, if they could see in the Spirit. The armor of God passage is not a light-hearted list of principles. A feel-good summary to read through. Christians, it is simply not enough to “put on the full armor of God,” you must wield it. The sword of the Spirit is used for prayer, and for anything else, in which the Spirit leads you.

Play Offense & Defense

It is ingrained in our church culture, to just “put on the armor” and then walk away. It is a great disservice to this mighty arsenal. Thankfully, God is revealing his secrets in these revival times. If you’ve felt beaten down by an invisible force, experiencing fatigue that is on a deeper level, you are likely going through spiritual warfare. But this is not the end, because you have been given every spiritual tool and blessing, to overcome the schemes of the enemy. Sound familiar? When Ephesians 6 talks about “extinguishing all the flaming darts of the enemy;” again, that is not a metaphor... I encourage you to re-read the passage with your new lens.

Scripture Reading >>> Ephesians 6:10-20

Go ahead and take time after this post, to imagine yourself wearing your armor. Notice the color and allow the image to flash in your mind. It’s easier than you think. Your heavenly arsenal awaits you. Give the Lord your time, and you will see what he has in store.

“Father, we pray that as we step into deeper understanding, you will illuminate our eyes and ears with revelation. You will open our senses more to the realm of the Spirit, and guide us by your Spirit. We take authority over all the power of the enemy, and we strike down every plot and every scheme that would come against us. Lord, fill us with your love, your understanding, and your wisdom. Change our perspective to know that we are truly surrounded by your light, that never changes like the shifting shadows. We declare that our confidence is in you, and you alone. In the precious name of your son, Jesus, Amen!
