Review of Scriptural References
Did you know the famous phrase that Jesus used, “Son of Man” comes directly from the Book of Enoch?
Jesus was referencing this phrase because the people were well acquainted with Enoch as it was part of Jewish literature.
Here are a few references.
“In that hour was this Son of man invoked before the Lord of spirits, and his name in the presence of the Ancient of days.” Enoch 48:2
“He sat upon the throne of his glory; and the principal part of the judgment was assigned to him, the Son of man.” Enoch 68:39
“They shall fix their hopes on this Son of man, shall pray to him, and petition him for mercy.”
Enoch 61:13
When Jesus arrived on the scene, he directly quoted references that equated him with being God, even the one to carry out judgment. This is the Messiah that the Jewish people were waiting for, while some had thought he would overthrow Rome.
Enoch 61:13 is a prophecy of Jesus coming as the Savior!
When we research the Book of Enoch, we gain valuable insight into biblical history.
